[ Bat-leaf Passion Flower (Passiflora coriacea) | Posted on November 4, 2017 ]

I loved the visitors to our Passion Vine: Fritillaries, Zebra Longwing and one other that slips my mind at the moment. This vine is a host to these butterflies' eggs. But as we all know, passion vines are invasive. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you could easily dig them up wherever they are not wanted, but alas, their root systems are extremely fragile and surprisingly able to grow quickly into the most hardened soils.

My question: Is there such a thing as a non-invasive passion vine? And if not; has anyone come up with a clever way to contain its growth? I've tried a pot or pots, but the fruit is the culprit. It finds its way to the soil and is even helped by hungry critters.
