Nice big evergreen red, and a good bloomer too.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Drums Along the Mohawk') | Posted on July 9, 2014 ]

This is a very nice daylily and a real extended bloomer. It towers over the other daylilies with scapes that are almost as tall as a yardstick.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Jungle Butterfly') | Posted on July 7, 2014 ]

Not a good bloomer.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Autumn Rose') | Posted on May 11, 2014 ]

[ Hosta 'Golden Tiara' | Posted on April 3, 2014 ]

This hosta is a rapid grower, makes a great edger plant, and also looks great as a mass planting.

[ Red-Tipped Photinia (Photinia 'Fraseri') | Posted on February 2, 2014 ]

These are everywhere here and get very big, about 15 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. They are popular because they grow fast and make a tight hedge or screening if you want to hide something or from something. Otherwise, you have to prune it a lot. The new growth is susceptible to Entomosporium leaf spot. This will kill the shrub unless you spray regularly with a fungicide.

[ Hosta 'Ani Machi' | Posted on November 30, 2013 ]

This hosta looked good in the spring when it first came up, but within one month it was very ugly. This hosta does not do well in zone 8a. It does not tolerate heat very well, and I got rid of all four of mine.
