Small green Haworthia with windowed leaves bearing fine lines and texture. From the Western Cape in South Africa. An excellent choice for small containers. Forms in cultivation tend to be prolific clumpers, but plants in habitat are typically solitary (either depauperate or non-offsetting). Propagated from offsets, seed, and leaves. Fat roots. This plant requires excellent drainage and strong light in cultivation. It has been used in hybridization and has a surprising range of leaf shapes and textures. So-called "giant" forms exist with rosettes to 6 inches or more.

The species name means "pounded back" and refers to the shape of the leaves near the tip, where the flat triangular window is out of the plane of the rest of the leaf, in a sense bent back toward the ground.
