Baja California endemic agave from the VizcaĆno Desert with few, glaucous gray or green leaves. Glaucous plants may bear striking bud imprints. Solitary or offsetting. Rosettes reach about 2-3 feet wide. Described by Gentry in 1978, and classified by Gentry under the Deserticolae, with a branched inflorescence and a long floral tube. The VizcaĆno receives about 2-4 inches of rain, mostly in the winter.
