Very compact marjoram, makes a nice solid mound. Sweeter and milder than O. vulgare. Used to season meats and tomato dishes, chopped in potpourris, and in disinfecting salves. Oregano means "joy of the mountain." Prefers a lime-rich soil in a sunny sheltered area.
