Description by RHS - Fl. rounded, 100 mm wide; perianth segments very broad, blunt, fairly prominently mucronate, pure white, spreading or a little reflexed, somewhat concave, regular, overlapping half; the inner segments narrower, only very slightly mucronate, with margins wavy and incurved; corona funnel-shaped, lightly ribbed, white, with a broad band of orange-pink (25C-26D) at rim, mouth wavy, rim slightly flanged, irregularly notched and crenate. Late. 2n=28.'

This award winning daffodil has been utilized extensively in breeding programs. It is both seed and pollen fertile. Used 17 times as seed parent, 12 times as pollen parent. List of descendants available here - (DaffSeek 10-7-13).
The International Daffodil Register & Classified List has 2 entries for Rainbow, the other one is also a registered Division 2 designation w/ a 1st flowering date of pre 1907. Breeder - W.B. Hartland.
