This recently bloomed for me for the first time. It's been in the ground for approximately 13 years, planted under a pergola covered with shadecloth. The bud took over a week to form, and ended up being about 7 inches long! It opened during the night, closed the next day, and then re-opened for the second night and has been open all day today. I can't believe how impressive this is. The flower measures 8 inches across! It was worth the long wait.
