This was an old cultivar that was an upright form that grew about 4 to 5 times as tall as wide with the branches high up on the trunk. However, it is not grown anymore due to susceptibility to Dutch Elm Disease. I can't remember ever seeing this cultivar, and I remember many American Elms in my youngers days of the 1950's & 60's & 70's. I'll take a look in Morton Arboretum in northeast IL and see if they preserved one somehow.
