Posted by plantladylin (Sebastian, Florida - Zone 10a) on Oct 18, 2011 10:08 AM The Codiaeum variegatum is a common evergreen shrub in tropical landscapes and can reach heights to 10' when planted in the ground, but usually remains smaller when grown as a container plant. Codiaeum vareigatum has thick, colorful leaves, the flowers are borne on long racemes and are yellowish to white in color. The stems of Codiaeum have a milky sap that may cause contact dermatitis (skin irritation) in some people. Codiaeum prefers bright light to partial shade and a well draining potting medium.
