I bought and planted a nursery propagated local ecotype of this last year. I was happy to find it because wild populations are dwindling in my state (Maine). A deer has bitten off the stems down to the base leaves both years. Last year the deer got the blooms and stem and this year in June it didn't wait and ate the emerging scape.
