Description: Very large flowers have intensely yellow single to semi double petals surrounding a tuft of yellow stamens with some red flaring in the center. It has a pleasant, slightly spicy scent. One of the best yellows ever produced. Makes an excellent garden plant as the sturdy stems require no staking. Compact growth habit.

"Paeonia 'Going Bananas', (3-SL-Y) Itoh Hybrid Peony, (Anderson, R.F.), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium height, single, yellow petals, red flares, yellow stamens, Green carpels with yellow tips, lightly fragrant, midseason bloomer, Michigan Bloom Month 5-6.

Bred by Roger F. Anderson, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. An good landscape plant with fairly large flowers. Apparently it is named for one's reaction after seeing the flowers."
