    Description from Sidney's Conger's 1952 catalog of Louisiana Iris, p.11:
    QUAPAW TRIBE. (Chowning, 1950). Hybrid of Cardinalis X Louise Austin. Large flowers of bright copper-rose with long gold signal patch on sepal. Three open flowers to a stem. Fast color, clean foliage, 20 to 24 inches. Hardy. Late Mid-season. $5.00.
