"Paeonia 'Victoire de la Marne', (3-DB-RD) lactiflora cultivar Peony, (Dessert, 1915), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium height, double, purplish red petals with lighter edges, large flower, strong stems, midseason bloomer, Michigan Bloom Month 5.

Reportedly an ugly colored flower with an unpleasant odor. Saunders called it ""A vile color but wonderful size."" and Fewkes said ""the color of this flower is decidedly sour."" With such outstanding reviews, I cannot wait to see this one bloom. Planted in 2017."
