My mother's maiden name was Mitchell and this pea has been grown in our family in Oklahoma since before my time. I am still growing them from the same family seed that's been perpetuating for who knows how long. I got them from my brother who got them from our father who got them from my mother's father and on and on. They are approximately 6ft vining plants that are heat and drought tolerant. Delicious earthy flavor. Look grandpa! We're still growing and eating them!

First time growing these, from Baker Creek Seeds. Nice dark green leaves have been plagued with an unknown insect eating holes in them, I suspect brown beetles as I can't find any pests during the daytime. The plants are vining, finding the fence and climbing and will easily go 5 feet, maybe more? so consider trellis.
