Well behaved shrub. Does well in part to full shade. It does get a bit brownish on the underparts, but I suppose that is to be expected. Good for year round interest, mounds nicely.

In Southern MO I have this planted on the south side of my house so it gets really full hot sun, and it does great for me, I have no complaints and I would plant it again. The plants around it do fine as well, it doesn't sap the surrounding area. The shrub looks great in the winter here as well. I have had it planted for 3 maybe 4 years now, and so far the back side (facing the house) looks nice. It is not right up next to the house though, out maybe 3 ft. I gave it room to grow. I have it planted with a sage plant, (silver foliage, edible and fragrant) and a purple leaved sand cherry. The colors are nice together. It is thick and full for me and I have no problems w pests or disease.
