This plant has lovely dark green and almost leathery leaves. It blooms in midsummer here, and has dusky blue-purple flowers. It seems to be very drought-tolerant; I have it growing on top of a hill in dry soil, surrounded by Sideoats grama (Bouteloua curtipendula) .
