This plant was originally sold years ago (by a now closed nursery called Sandown Exotics in Melbourne) with a tentative ID of Iris-Like Cymbidium (Cymbidium iridioides), but Melbourne Cymbidium species grower Stephen Early purchased it and selfed it, confirming it is a hybrid. Divisions of the plant are still in circulation today (Stephen Early himself has distributed pieces as well), sometimes with the original, incorrect iridioides label.

I have seen (and photographed) a single flower taken from a blooming plant and concluded it was a hybrid of Cym. iridioides with Orchid (Cymbidium erythraeum var. erythraeum). It is worth noting that if Cym. erythraeum var. flavum is split out of erythraeum and returns to species status, this particular hybrid will likely have no name, as Cym. Toni Benton was registered by Royale Orchids (who I understand used Orchid (Cymbidium erythraeum var. flavum 'Paradise') for all their registered erythraeum hybrids).
