Recently (2017) described Colombian agave from a small area of dry tropical forest. Similar to and related to A. sisalana. With small, irregularly spaced teeth; small papillae on the leaf surface (absent on sisalana); and a taller inflorescence than sisalana (8-10m vs. 5-6m) with fewer, smaller bulbils. This species forms clumps via rhizomatous offsets.
