Grows wild in North/South Carolina in sand dunes, along with blanket flowers and other beach-y perennials.

I do not reccomend this plant for Wabi-Kusa or aquariums, it is a "large" type hydrocotyle. Some leaves can be from 3 inches to 4 inches in diameters.

    The flowers are nice though.

Dollarweed is a warm season perennial herb native to North America. It spreads by seed as well as underground runners and is considered a noxious weed in many areas. Dollarweed loves a wet, sandy habitat like we have here in Florida. It is traveling throughout the sod in parts of my backyard and also spreading into flower beds. It seems almost impossible to get rid of. When you try pulling it out, the runners break off, leaving parts deep in the soil.

Dollarweed spreads, forming dense mats and thrives in wet, sandy habitats.
