This Whitebark Pine is a very similar species to the Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis). It has shorter needles about 1 3/4 to 3 inches long and ovoid cones are about 2.5 inches long. This soft pine species is native to the mountains of British Colombia down into California to Wyoming. There are reports of it being endangered by White Pine Blister Rust and some from global warming's effects.
