Posted by gingin (Fountain, Florida - Zone 8b) on Dec 6, 2011 4:01 PM This is a native plant in Florida. The leaves have a rather pungent odor. I'm not sure whether it will overwinter outside this far north. Mine came from Lutz (Tampa area). Kept it in the GH last year. This year I have left some outside, so come spring we shall see. Posted by ajean923 (Santa Rosa Beach, FL) on Mar 5, 2018 11:53 AM Purchased Bluecurls for a native plant demonstration garden not realizing these were annuals. Nonetheless, one plant has wintered over and has new shoots and growth coming from some stems. The other two do not seem to have faired so well. I am hoping the plants self-sowed and my purchase was not in vain. [ Reply to this comment | |
greene | On September 5, 2017 | Bloomed Taller than expected: Since I moved all my plants from my old garden in a big hurry plants are in a pot ghetto situation. As each plant blooms I tag them then I decide where to plant them in the new garden. The Forked Bluecurls had me fooled as they have grown about 3 feet tall in the new place. It was not until the first bloom appears that I fully realized which plant they were. I expected them to grow no taller than 2 feet but I was wrong. |
greene | On September 23, 2015 | Bloomed Plant is blooming now. The potted plant requires extra water. |
