Native Plants and Herbs of the Southwest
The Herb Society of America's West District Symposium will be held at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix on April 2 and 3. Topics include solar dyeing with Native American herbs and plants, growing southwest native herbs in the landscape, and Arizona ethnobotany featuring people and plants of the Colorado plateau. Junior Master Gardeners
Resembling a combination of Master Gardener and 4-H programs, the Junior Master Gardener program developed by the University of Texas Cooperative Extension has the mission to "grow good kids by igniting a passion for learning, success and service through a unique gardening education." Offered through cooperative extension in 28 states, JMG offers teacher training, curriculum guides, and networking for people wanting to develop a love of gardening in kids.
