National Arbor Day Foundation
If you're looking for the right tree to plant, a visit to the National Arbor Day Foundation is a must. There, you'll find something for everyone. Try your hand at their online game -- "The Right Tree in the Right Place." Check out the updated hardiness zone map; kids' games, such as "Who Wants to be a Treelionaire?" and their tree guide. The guide will tell you everything you need to know about numerous trees: preferred soil, sun, hardiness zone, spread, height, and shape. Happy Arbor Day!

Landscaping for Privacy
Need some good ideas for how to use trees in the landscape to enhance your privacy? Try Sunset's Landscaping for Privacy (Sunset Publishing Co., 1985; $12.95). Sunset does their usual good job covering the subject with easy-to-read text, great drawings, and outstanding photographs. They cover how to enclose an outdoor living space, how to make a peaceful place between you and the street, and more.
