How Much Mulch?
With summer coming, gardeners are told to mulch, mulch, mulch. Ever wonder how much mulch you need to cover that flower bed area, say 3 inches deep? Well wonder no more. This Mulch Web page from Clemson University provides a fast, easy reference to get you up to speed in a jiffy.

Favorite or New Plant

Egyptian Star Cluster
Pentas, a.k.a. Egyptian star clusters, are butterfly magnets. These annuals tolerate our hot summers if planted in a part shade location. They prefer well-drained soil and moderate moisture levels. Few pests or diseases bother them, but the butterflies will line up for a sip from their beautiful bloom clusters. The 'Butterfly Series' is a superior performing variety for the south. It reaches 24 inches in height and width, and is well suited for mass planting or patio containers.
