Favorite or New Plant

Angel Trumpet
Datura and brugmansia are closely related, were once both called "datura," and are still both called "angel trumpet." They are actually herbs because native Americans used datura as an anesthetic while setting bones, but don't try any home remedies with these plants. In fact, plant them in the backyard rather than the front because they are sometimes a temptation for drug seekers. The entire plants are extremely poisonous, especially the seeds, but they have the most beautiful, large, white flowers. Most bloom only at night, but a few of the daturas bloom in the daytime as well. They are easily grown from seeds or cuttings.
