American Hydrangea Society
Based in Atlanta (not in our region, but darned close), the American Hydrangea Society has a beautiful site, with info about hydrangeas we can grow in most of the region and others we may only dream of. This fascinating family of plants is expanding annually, with more people growing more of them every year. If you like the French blues or the oakleafs, you'll like this site.

Tool or Gardening Product

Easy Reach pruner
Fiskars is known for innovative garden tools, and they've done it again with this 25-inch Easy Reach bypass pruner. The design uses levers to increase the size of stems you can prune with very little effort. The pruner works with a sliding latch that is painless to operate, and its long arm lets you reach right into the roses without pain. This is a keeper of a tool, with a steel blade with nonstick coating, and a lifetime warranty. It's easy to use and fills a gap in the tool shed.
