Favorite or New Plant

'Fusion Glow' Exotic Impatiens
I received a box of plants early in the spring from Simply Beautiful, and I stuck them into my little shade garden and was amazed at how hardy they all were. However, one plant really caught my attention -- a yellow impatiens with an orange center called 'Fusion Glow'. I have it planted in a hanging container and also in the soil. The flowers and foliage are larger than the Impatiens walleriana, but not so large as the New Guinea hybrids. Look for this plant at your local nursery.

Clever Gardening Technique

Safety with Herbicides
To prevent herbicide spray from damaging surrounding plants, cut the bottom off a plastic soda bottle, gather the weed inside, and spray though the mouth of the bottle. Allow the herbicide to drip for a few moments, then move on to the next weed. Always follow label directions when using chemicals in your garden, and never mix more than you will use at one time.
