Fall Garden Festival
Swing into the fall planting season at the Fall Garden Festival at Metro Tech Union High School in Phoenix, Saturday, October 22, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This fun event serves up plants, garden wares, arts & crafts, books, farm-fresh produce, a giant rummage sale, and gardening talks throughout the day. Sponsored by Metro Tech Union High School's Horticulture Program and University of Arizona Maricopa County Master Gardeners. 1900 W. Thomas Road in central Phoenix. Perfect Arranger
I first saw this nifty flower "frog" at the Chelsea Garden Show in England. The Perfect Arranger is made from a flexible weave stainless steel mesh that securely holds a wide range of stem diameters. It's much easier to poke your fingers around as you rearrange flowers because it doesn't have those sharp ice-pick points like traditional frogs. Stems stay in place better than with foam blocks, and the Perfect Arranger can be reused indefinately. For info, visit:
