Fiskars Transplanting Spade
Fiskars makes a wonderful digging tool if you happen to have hard, adobe clay soil in your garden. The transplanting spade is ideal for what it was designed for -- digging and moving established plants from one area of the garden to another. However, during my days as a professional gardener, we used this tool for digging trenches because of its narrow blade. We called it a Sharp Shooter. That narrow, sharp blade is perfect for cutting through even the hardest soil. The wide footrest gives ample "push," and the sturdy handle will not bend or break, no matter how tough you are on your tools. The transplanting spade has a comfortable hand grip, and the bright orange color makes it easy to find in the garden. I heartily recommend adding this great tool to your shed.
