Web Finds

Rachel's Reflections
Here's a Web site that was created by a lady who is absolutely crazy about African violets. My Passion for African Violets contains very useful information on a wide variety of topics with many helpful photos. Novices and old pro's will both find something useful here. Judging from Rachel, African violets must be pretty addictive, so surf at your own risk!

Plant Propagation
Gardeners interested in learning how to propagate plants will find The American Horticultural Society; Plant Propagation, by Alan Toogood (DK Press, 1999; $35), a very user-friendly book. Like other DK books, this one is loaded with superb photos showing step-by-step techniques for propagating a wide variety of plants. Sections on seed propagation, vegetative propagation, tools and equipment, rooting and growing media, and propagation structures make for a very helpful guide. Add to that another 200-plus pages of specific instructions for a multitude of plants and you have one excellent reference book. If you love to grow things, you need this book.
