Tool or Gardening Product

Cane Knife
The long-bladed cutting tool called a cane knife -- made for the sugarcane harvest -- is more useful than most gardeners realize. Pruning and shaping ornamental grasses, slicing up weedy areas along the fence, and hacking your way through briars are just three of its uses. The best knives are about 20 inches long with tempered steel blades that extend all the way to the end of the wooden handle. Cane knives are distinguished by their wide blades, hooked on one side, that taper to a perfectly weighted handle. The hook is great for pulling vines off trees.
