Kidsgardening Photo Contest
If you garden with kids at home, at school, or in your community, take your camera along and record the action and submit photos to NGA's Kidsgardening Photo Contest. We welcome colorful photos of children and teens engaged with gardens, plants, and nature. Prizes include $250, $100, and $50 gift certificates to NGA's Gardening With Kids catalog. Favorite or New Plant

Container Clematis
As if clematis didn't have enough attributes to win our favor, now there's a wide range of petite types suitable for containers. The Evison Patio Clematis varieties -- bred in England -- reach only about 4 feet high. They flower for most of the summer in purples, blues, and pinks. 'Bourbon' has deep reddish purple blooms with a yellow center; 'Versailles' is a gorgeous wine red and tops out at 6 feet; 'Angelique' is pale lilac with a red stripe. And this is only a sampling. They are hardy to zone 4 so after a summer in pots, plant them in the ground or winter them in a shed or garage with some insulation against frigid temps. See photos of the varieties here:
