The Institute for Plant-Based Nutrition
The Institute for Plant-Based Nutrition is a good resource for those interested in vegetarian and vegan diets or just for growing the best vegetables possible. This Web site has information about their demonstration gardens, plenty of plant and diet links and resources, recipes, and just about anything else connected with eating plant foods. One phrase I found that could be a tenet for all our lives is "teach children to grow plants, eat properly and honor labor." Couldn't have said it better.

Growing Flowers Organically
The Complete Flower Gardener, by Karan Davis Cutler and Barbara Ellis (Wiley, 2006; $34.95) is a lovely new book that's become a permanent part of my library. Not only do the authors give complete information for growing all types of perennial and annual flowers organically, but the plant portraits are phenomenal. Each flower is beautifully photographed, and there is extensive information about how to grow the plant, how to use it in the garden, and what cultivars are best. Even with all the Internet information available out there, there is something very comforting about holding this book in your hands.
