Good Earth Rose Care
Want to grow your roses organically? Some of the members of the American Rose Society have developed a Web site called Good Earth R.O.S.E. Care, with the letters R. O. S. E. standing for responsible, organic, simple, and earth-friendly. The site includes info on organic rose care, soil and soil biology, fertilizers and nutrients, composting, pruning, and pests and diseases.

Tool or Gardening Product

Uncle Mikey's Dynamic Duo
Boost the health and vigor of your garden with special formulations of an activated compost tea and fish emulsion. These particular products that enhance plant growth were developed by a microbiologist and are available from Underwood Gardens ( Uncle Mikey's TNTea is a compost tea concentrate made from worm castings combined with rock powders, while Uncle Mikey's Fish Sauce is a fermented, liquid fish, non-smelly concentrate that's a rich mix of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, colloidal minerals, amino acids, vitamins, and enzymes. Although each of these can be used alone, it's recommended that they be used together as a foliar spray and soil drench. They are available in 16-ounce "measure-and-dispense" bottles. Although I haven't done a scientific comparison, the results of using them so far this spring have been impressive.
