American Hemerocallis Society
The American Hemerocallis Society has a wonderful Web site with every type of question answered, as well as press releases, local society information, conferences, articles, competitions, and all manner of things daylily. One of the best parts of the site is the daylily database where you can find entries and photos of over 58,000 varieties. A few examples of dynamite daylilies with interesting names: 'Babbling Baboon's Bouncing Babies', 'Foggy Day', 'Dancing Angel'. Makes you want to see them, doesn't it?

Clever Gardening Technique

If You Can't Beat Them, Feed Them
I can't get rid of my flea beetles. They ruin my eggplants every single year, and although I've tried just about everything, I finally found a system that works. I simply feed the beetles. Chinese cabbage. I interplant my eggplants with pak choi, which the flea beetles love even more than eggplants. The leaves are much more tender than eggplant leaves so they leave the eggplants pretty much alone. It makes me sad that I can't eat the cabbage leaves (I still love using the stalks), but it means I get eggplants by the bucket load.
