Mohave Desert & Mountain Recycling Authority
The Mohave Desert & Mountain Recycling Authority site is sponsored by nine California desert cities that cooperate on waste management issues, including composting, recycling, and green waste reduction. It contains information on their Master Composter program, which has trained over 800 home composters. There's also info on recycling and reducing the use of a wide variety of materials, including eliminating junk mail and recycling plastics. Included is a list of area businesses that accept a wide range of recyclable items -- from packing peanuts to eyeglasses to computer parts. Even old athletic shoes are being put to use in the Reuse-A-Shoe program: shoes are separated and crushed for athletic surfaces.

Clever Gardening Technique

Propagating Euphorbia
All Euphorbia succulents exude a toxic milky sap when stems are cut. When propagating, wear gloves and dip the cut end in cold water to stop the sap flow.
