Cooking, Preserving, and Growing Tomatoes
The Heirloom Tomato Cookbook, by Mimi Luebbermann (Chronicle Books, 2006; $16.95) is a must-have on your cookbook shelf, especially if you love tomatoes. The author provides a wonderful array of recipes from her own treasure trove as well as famous chefs' favorites. Each recipe is paired with a wine suggestion from Kendall-Jackson, who hosts the Heirloom Tomato Festival in Sonoma every year. The book also provides beautiful photographs of heirloom varieties, cultural information, and sources for seeds.
