Monster Tomato and Pepper Sale
The Fullerton Arboretum will host its annual Monster Tomato and Pepper Sale from March 13 to 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This is the largest annual plant sale in the local area focusing exclusively on tomatoes and peppers. More than 200 varieties of tomato plants will be on sale this year, including every size from currant to beefsteak, and every color from white to black. The pepper and chili selection will offer more than 100 varieties of hot and sweet peppers. All tomatoes and peppers for this sale were carefully propagated and organically grown exclusively in the Arboretum nursery by skilled volunteers. Proceeds from this annual sale benefit the Fullerton Arboretum. For a complete listing of all tomatoes and peppers that will be available, go to: For info, call (714) 278-3579.

Clever Gardening Technique

Paint Bucket as Weed Collector
Turn an empty 5-gallon paint bucket into a lightweight plastic garbage can to haul around the yard when weeding or pruning. As the can fills, empty it into central disposal cans, and continue collecting. If you push the container around in your wheelbarrow, you won't strain yourself struggling with a heavy container, so your energy can go into further gardening.
