Clever Gardening Technique

Tricks to Fine-Tune Irrigation
If your system lacks sufficient valves for plant material with different water requirements, and adding valves and trenching for more lines isn't an option, here's a tip: Add more emitters around trees so that additional water is applied in the same time frame. Swap existing low-flow emitters (1 or 2 gallons per hour) for higher flow rates, such as 4 or 6 gallon. Emitters with adjustable flow rates are another option. (Do the opposite for plants with lower water use, i.e., few emitters and lower flow rates.)
