Bio-Intensive Gardening
The title says it all: How to Grow More Vegetables Than You Ever Thought Possible on Less Land Than You Can Imagine. This book by John Jeavons (Ten Speed Press, 1991; out of print but used copies available online) has been around for years but it's still limitless in its advice. The essence is the French bio-intensive gardening system, in which the soil is prepared to receive plants that grow close together in a perfect balance. If you haven't read it and you grow vegetables, it's worth a late-night read even if you don't carry it out to the garden.
