Bulb Forcing
Evidently Art Wolk has been forcing bulbs for many years, and he tells exactly how to do it with friendly, humorous instructions in The Little Blue Book of Bulb Forcing (AAB Book Publishing Company, 2007). If you've ever wanted to have bulbs on your kitchen table all year long, this is an approachable, interesting book to tell you how to do it.

Tool or Gardening Product

Bulb Bopper
I thought that I didn't need any more bulb planting tools. But I was quite impressed with this one. It is a stainless steel auger that fits onto a standard drill. You turn on the drill, press gently, and a tidy two-inch hole is dug in about two seconds. You can dig holes up to 9 inches deep. Then, simply rinse it off and put it away for the season. It's available through Dutch Gardens, who claim it will plant a hundred bulbs and hour, for $29.99.
