Audubon Insectarium
If you happen to get to New Orleans this year, be sure to visit the city's new Audubon Insectarium, which is getting rave reviews. But even if you can't make there, the museum's Insectrium Web page and the companion We Love Bugs page, offer lots of information as well as fun with bugs. Why should we care? Insects are the cornerstone of all life on Earth. They pollinate our plants and flowers, they help waste decompose, and, without them, our planet's ecosystems could collapse within months.

Clever Gardening Technique

Combine Organic Fertilizers
Although I haven't tried this yet in my garden, the report inspires me to give it a go this summer. Experiments by the Universidad de Colimas in Mexico found that the highest yields were obtained with a combination of vermicompost and bat manure, significantly higher than with either fertilizer alone.
