Interested in regional approaches for better food and more sustainable food production? The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group is a forum for individuals and organizations committed to working on and advocating for food system change in our area -- Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. NESAWG activities range from a social networking site to supporting the "Buy Local" movement to public education to public policy reform, and more.

Clever Gardening Technique

Seed Disks
Small seeds roll around, cluster together, move when you water. They are difficult to space for good growth and easy plant care. Seed disks have seeds embedded in biodegradable fiber sheet -- like a thin, circular napkin. The seeds are placed about an inch or more apart. Instructions are to put the disk in a specific sized pot. I prefer to cut the disk into pieces ... and space the disk pieces farther apart or put them in several pots.
