Turf Workshop
If you're going to have a lawn in the low desert, do it right. Attend this workshop sponsored by University of Arizona Master Gardeners at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension in Phoenix, Arizona on May 26 from 9 am to noon. Topics include choosing the varieties that perform best and how to properly water, fertilize, and mow for a healthy lawn. Desert Demonstration Garden
If you think it's too hot to go outside, you can enjoy a virtual tour of this garden in Nevada at the Las Vegas Valley Water District site. It includes an array of theme gardens covering just about every possibility one might plant in the landscape. Gardens featured include entry garden, courtyard, terraced garden, native wash garden, cottage garden, fruits and vegetable gardens, herb garden, oriental garden, rock garden, and cacti garden.
