Garlic Festival & Craft Show
Enjoy a family celebration of the "fragrant bulb" at Young's Farm in Dewey, Arizona, on June 23-24. Garlicky things to eat will include garlic bread, garlic ice cream, barbecued garlic, and lots more. There will be face painting and pony rides for kids, plus cooking classes, live music, and plenty of fresh produce. Admission is free, but a canned food donation is requested for the Yavapai County Food Bank. Call (520) 632-7272 for more information.

Bouquets Garnis
Bouquets garnis is a French term for small bunches of herbs tied together to flavor the stockpot. They're simple to make, and no special recipe is involved. Snip 3-inch stems of your favorite herbs and tie them together with a bit of string. Toss them into stocks, soups, or stews during the last half hour of cooking for an added burst of flavor.

Experiment with combinations that you enjoy. I like the combination of thyme, oregano, and rosemary with chicken. Mint is wonderful added to a pitcher of lemonade. Make some extras and tie them with a piece of ribbon--they make nice gifts. Even if the recipients don't cook, they'll enjoy the herb fragrance.
