Plant Sale
The General Plant Sale, which takes place on February 6, 2010, at the San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum, offers a unique opportunity to acquire plants seldom found in commercial nurseries or garden centers. All plants are suitable for Bay Area gardens and are propagated by volunteers from the Garden's own collections. Saturday Plant Sales are held at the San Francisco Botanical Garden Nursery from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Nursery is located in the southwest corner of the Gardens, a five-minute walk from the Main Gate at Ninth Avenue at Lincoln Way. For more information visit:

Deer Repellant
If you live in an urban area where deer are a problem, you might be interested in this new product. Deer Stopper by Messina Wildlife Management is the only organic repellant in the country certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). An effective taste deterrent, Deer Stopper is 100 percent organic and completely safe for use on all types of plants and shrubs. The smell- and taste-based technology also eliminates the need to use foul, odor-based repellent products, which can be quite unpleasant for homeowner's use. Deer Stopper actually smells good to humans. Lightly misting vegetation once a month, even during the winter, will keep deer away all season long.
