Web Finds

Fungi Perfecti
Fungi Perfecti is the Web site of a company that supplies mushroom-growing supplies and a vast amount of information about how to do it right. Perhaps the best aspect of the Web site is the listing of many resources for all things connected with mushroom growing. You should be able to find an answer to any question you have either on the site or at one of the resource sites.

Favorite or New Plant

Shasta daisy 'Ice Star'
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Shasta daisies, but I've never been fond of the so-called double forms that have appeared in recent years because they appear ragged. This one, though, is fully double and is absolutely beautiful. The clear white flowers almost resemble scabiosa flowers although they are larger and the foliage is much more attractive. They bloom all summer on 2-foot, compact stems. They need full sun for the most attractive plants, and are not picky about soil. Water as needed in dry times, and be sure to bring some indoors for the vase.
