Geranium 'Calliope'
An interspecific hybrid from Syngenta Flowers, 'Calliope' geranium combines plenty of "wow" factor with staying power. This plant, honored in July as a Greenhouse Grower's Medal of Excellence Winner, is a cross between zonal and ivy geraniums, and offers the best features of both species, including vivid color and superior branching.

'Calliope' is perfect for pots, baskets, and flower beds. It's dark red flowers last throughout the summer, even in full sun -- unlike the less heat-tolerant varieties I've tried in the past. Foliage is also exceptional, providing a lush, dark green backdrop for the plant's striking flowers.
