Favorite or New Plant

Sun Parasol Crimson Mandevilla
This may seem an odd time of year to mention Sun Parasol Crimson mandevilla, as it is at its best in the summer, but as I watch it survive as a houseplant, I know that it will make me proud once again as the weather warms. Tropical climbing or trailing vines, mandevillas make great patio container plants because of their lush, fast growth, glossy leaves, and abundance of petunia-like flowers. The Sun Parasol brand of mandevillas are the result of crossbreeding, which have yielded plants better than the sum of the parts. Sun Parasol Crimson is noted for its true crimson flowers, improved branching, and ease of cultivation. No, it is not blooming indoors this winter, but it is growing and surviving, which is much more than any previous mandevilla has done for me. I have no doubt that as soon as it can go outside after the last frost, it will once more reward me with those stunning flowers.
