Favorite or New Plant

Grape Tomatoes
Grape type tomatoes are no longer new but they are definitely one of my favorite garden plants. These small, sweet fruits grow in clusters making them a favorite snack every time I venture out into the garden. Some of my favorite varieties are Sweet Olive, Agriset and Sugary. Juliette is twice the size of most other grape types but is another super choice.

Clever Gardening Technique

Slanted Tomato Trellis
Lean a livestock panel against posts to make a great tomato trellis. Place the bottom of the panels about 1 1/2 feet from the base of the post and tie the top to the posts. Then plant your tomato row between the row of posts and the base of the livestock panels. The plants will grow up and through the panels with a little guidance every few days. Coax them back through the panels occasionally to form a leaning wall of foliage that captures the full benefit of the sun and shades the fruit well too.
